From the Dead Sea to the Northern Heights: Imperial Roman

Today, you will leave the lowest point on Earth and travel north to
explore the lush landscapes and rich history of Northern Jordan.
Your journey begins at Jerash, nestled in a quiet valley among the
mountains of Gilead. This is the grandeur of Imperial Rome preserved
in stone; explore its paved and colonnaded streets, magnificent
theaters, the Oval Plaza, soaring temples, and Hadrian’s Arch. It is one
of the most complete Roman sites outside of Italy.

Next, a short, scenic drive through beautiful pine forests and olive groves brings you to Ajloun. Here stands the impressive Al-Rabid Castle, a vital 12th-century fortress built by Saladin’s lieutenants during the campaigns against the Crusaders.
